Over the last month or so, I’ve been writing and rewriting this post in my head. It’s been a struggle to find the words to aptly convey how much life has changed. Photography started out as a hobby and quickly turned into a passion. In the beginning, so many of my friends wanted me to take pictures of their kids that it made sense to make a extra money while doing it. At the time, I was a stay at home mom, with two kids under five, and the flexibility it allowed me was wonderful. I enjoyed the experiences and meeting so many wonderful people, including clients and other photographers. Maybe you can relate to how vastly your life changes when you have children? Plans you have for yourself get put on hold and maybe for some people, those plans disappear. I know many people, including myself :-), who claimed to not want to quit working when they had a baby, only to eat those words the second they looked into the eyes of their newborn. I know it’s not feasible for everyone and I know that I was very lucky to be able to stay at home and enjoy all three of my children’s first years. Soooo to make a long story short, (maybe it’s too late for that?) my three kids are getting older and my husband has his BSN, so now it’s my turn. I am currently in nursing school full time. Woo hoo! As a result, I am no longer booking any photography sessions or classes. I am a creative at heart and I plan to use this blog as an outlet for expressing it with personal blog posts and photography. I guess ultimately this blog will be a mish mash of things that I enjoy, like running and fitness, cooking, woodworking, and my journey through school, to name a few. Heck, I may even share some client images that I never got around to posting. lol
disclaimer: If you have known anyone who has gone through nursing school, you might know that the free time you have as a nursing student in almost nonexistent. That being said, I am not planning on posting every day. I may not post often, I may not have correct grammar and there will most definitely be spelling errors, but if there is one thing I have learned over the last couple of years, it’s to focus on what matters in life and let go of the rest. 😉
This pic is from my youngest’s second birthday sesh.
